Gillian Discovers Her Powers
In the past week or so, Gillian has passed from the soft, observer newborn stage into the next, more active one. Just last week, her wiggles occasionally got her hands in touch with the toys on her bouncy seat, and today, she can manipulate those toys on purpose. She's almost breathlessly delighted at her own power, the way we would be if suddenly things began coming to life at our fingertips--what's happening? Can I do it again? Will it stop? Oh, wow.
She's also just been put into her jumper for the first couple of times, and has figured out how to touch down with her feet. She looks around gleefully, leaning way back in the seat and beaming toothlessly at all who are witness to her triumph.

Yay Gilly! Now you can not only grab stuff to play with it, you can DECIDE what you want to play with! You don't just have to lie there and hope someone hands you the toy you want! Congratulations!
