Grades 3-4
I'm going through my old journals. Lots of memories: my first semester in college, the weeks before I went to seminary, the year I applied for jobs and ended up here. But by far the most entertaining is my very first journal, from 1983. It's funny what seems important to a 9-year-old.
May 2: Today I got in a fight with Chasta. I got in it from jumprope. She turned wrong for Carla and I. She says, "I'm gonna beat your face in." I'd like to see her try. But instead we decided to have our friends write their names on paper. Whoever has the most friends wins.
May 18: Today Mom got mad. I really am not sure she'll get over it.
May 22: Woke up. Rain, Rain, Rain. Today is May Fair day, too. Went to fair then took down bird's nest. Dad & Bob C. [neighbor] got mad at Matt [neighbor's son] & I. I don't care.
May 23: Helped Dad clean out garage. He's paying us with gum. I went to church. Kellie's sister was born Fri. May 13. Juli went to the bathroom on the toilet seat and on floor. Mom stepped in it.
May 31: End of May. Was a nice month. Had a nice day except [Great-]Uncle Nerwood died.
June 23: Went shopping. Saw Utah license plate. Normal day though.
October 17: Back to the old grind [after family vacation]. I didn't miss anything except we're having a Social Studies test Tuesday. Dad said It probably doesn't matter anyway because nobody probably studied anyway!
December 23: Mom & Dad & I had a long talk about How Babies are Made. Also, gave Mrs. Blevins her potholder with a cat embrodered on it.

I am laughing so hard right now. My two favorites are the part about the Utah license plate and the last post with the part about the potholder right after the How Babies Are Made talk. These are awesome.
Hilarious. My favorite is he May 2 entry. I can't believe it; it just seems so confrontational.
I loved this...I also love the number of entries in May and how quickly they dropped off. And I second Maura's and Julie's comments. Those were my favorite entries as well.
I love this post. There are so many gems! I'll add to the list of what others have mentioned, whoever has the most friends wins.
My gosh, this is hysterical. You little rebel!!
